The Golf Cart is a land mode of transportation that can be found naturally in various parts of the map.

Gameplay[edit | edit source]

Golf Carts can be driven by holding the Use key (default : F on the keyboard) on the driver’s seat, and from there use the directional keys to steer and the jump key to brake. The Golf cart features 4 seats. Players and Kelvin may use those seats if the latter has been ordered to follow the player. Virginia currently cannot sit in Golf Carts.

The Golf cart is constantly powered by a solar panel mounted on the roof. After 6:00pm, the Golf Cart will fall back solely on its battery power, pulling one unit of energy every 30 seconds of use. It will only switch back to solar next morning at 6:00 am, replenishing one unit of energy every 30 seconds when the Golf Cart is left unused. The Golf cart’s power mechanic is tied to the in-game time, and not the actual sunlight. Driving the golf cart indoors or under dense foliage will not use battery power. The Golf Cart can be pushed using prompts at the front and the rear of the vehicle, thrusting it away from the player and slightly upward. This can also be done while swimming, allowing players to easily retrieve Golf Carts from deep bodies of water.

Oddly enough, the Golf Cart seems to have virtually unlimited torque, allowing it to easily escalate unnervingly steep slopes.

The Golf Cart will destroy small vegetation and saplings on its path, as well as most cannibal structures such as huts and effigies. NPCs and animals hit by a speeding golf cart will be inflicted damage proportional to its velocity. At full speed, the golf cart can inflict devastating damage, allowing it to instantly kill enemies such as Fingers and significantly weaken more powerful ones like Caterpillars in a single hit. Hitting cannibals will also dismember them.

Players can be knocked out of golf carts by all NPCs with this capability, such as angered Mooses, Brutes or Blue Puffies.
