Jump to navigation Jump to search

Stats are important aspects and attributes of the player in Sons of the Forest. Current player statistics are only limited to the HUD. These include Health, Stamina, Armor, Strength, Fullness, Hydration, and Energy. Some hidden stats include, but aren't limited to- internal temperature, wetness, and stealth.

Stats are still being developed and will most likely resemble that of The Forest.

Independent stats[edit | edit source]

  • Strength - Increases when the player performs certain actions. There are 100 levels of strength. The rate of progression is exponential. It is unclear whether performing the same action gives diminishing returns. [1] Strength affects the player's max health and damage inflicted. Each gained strength level increase damage by 1%, or up to double the damage at max level. This affects damages to enemies inflicted by melee weapons and damage to trees.
Actions that increase strength: Actions that do not increase strength:
  • Swinging a weapon or tool
  • Picking up a log from the ground
  • Swinging the Chainsaw (secondary action)
  • Walking / swimming / sprinting / jumping / sneaking
  • Walking / swimming / sprinting / jumping / sneaking while carrying logs
  • Building / Crafting
  • Gliding
  • Using firearms, explosives, bows.
  • Consuming item
  • Blocking with a weapon or tool
  • Picking up logs from storage or structure
  • Taking damage (getting attacked / poisoning / falling)
  • Using the Chainsaw (primary action)
  • Hydration - How hydrated the player is; replenished by drinking fluids or eating foods that provide hydration. If the player is less than 25% hydrated, they are actively thirsty which is indicated by the flashing of its HUD icon.
  • Fullness - How full on food the player is; replenished by eating food. If the player is less than 25% full, they are actively hungry which is indicated by the flashing of its HUD icon.
  • Energy - How tired the player is; replenished by sleeping, resting and eating certain foods. Slowly depletes as time moves on, performing actions increases depletion. If the player is actively hungry or thirsty, it depletes rapidly. If the player's energy falls below 25%, they are actively tired which is indicated by the flashing of its HUD icon.
  • Wetness - Makes the player more vulnerable to cold temperatures. The player will dry up through exposure; however, standing next to a fire or holding a torch will dry them out quickly. Wearing Clothing with high water resistance decreases how much wet the player becomes. (Hidden)

Dependent stats[edit | edit source]

  • Vitality - The maximum usable stamina. Dependent on Hydration, Fullness, Energy, and Warmth.
  • Health - The player's hit points. Dependent on Strength. The player passes out or dies if this depletes completely. Health is restored when the player takes medicines or eats certain foods; and sleeps. It is Replenished slowly when the player is not actively hungry or thirsty.
  • Stamina - The player's action points. It is consumed when sprinting, jumping, and attacking or using a tool. Dependent on Vitality. It is restored by simply waiting or eating certain foods.
  • Stealth - How visible the player is when sneaking. Dependent on the type of Armor worn, local light levels, and cover from objects in their immediate vicinity. (Visible when crouched)
  • Warmth - How warm the player is. Dependent on Wetness and local temperature. Standing next to a fire or holding a torch will warm up the player. Wearing outfits with high warmth stat increases the player's warmth. When a certain threshold [2] is crossed the player's starts to shiver and lose vitality. (Hidden)
