In Sons of the Forest ammunition plays a vital role in survival, fuelling the ranged weapons that provide the means of defending oneself from safer distance. The game features a wide range of ammunition, from basic small rocks and golf balls for slingshot to elaborate firearms ammo, each offering unique effects to aid players in enduring the harsh environment of the island.

Categories of Ammunition:

1. Ammo: Firearms ammunition.
2. Arrows: For bows and crossbow.
3. Other: Slingshot, stun gun and zipline gun ammo.

Just about everything.

Firearms Ammunition

Ammunition used in Modern Firearms, from Stun Guns, to Sidearms and Higher Caliber Weaponry. All ammunition has a maximum capacity of 1000 rounds.
Ammunition of any kind can often be collected either from being scattered on the ground near corpses, or inside of Black Containers.

Buckshot and Slug ammunition is the only type of interchangeable ammo, both exclusively used for the Shotgun.

Arrows

Arrows can be found in a variety of locations, from certain operative camps to being in Red Containers, or crafting them with a 3d Printer.
You can craft Stone Arrows with Small Stones, Sticks and Feathers, but you can also upgrade all arrows to Explosive / Fire / Poison / Shock variants, allowing for variety and an increase in carried arrows.

You can interchange through all arrows and arrow types by looking down and pressing the reload button.
