Sea Turtle

The Sea Turtle is a passive animal living on the shores of the Island.

Gameplay[edit | edit source]

Sea Turtles only appear in a handful of locations on the beaches of the Island, and almost exclusively during the summer, making them one of the rarest animals of the game. When killed, its shell can be harvested by skinning it, being the only natural way to obtain one.

Sea Turtles are usually seen swimming in shallow waters along the shoreline but, occasionally, they may crawl to the beach and begin digging the sand with their hind flipper, preparing to lay a batch of eggs. Collecting turtle eggs should be done swiftly after laying, as they will hatch in only a short period of time. When a turtle egg hatches, the hatchlings can be seen crawling out to the ocean. Turtle hatchlings are a purely cosmetic feature; they cannot be killed or harvested. Stepping on turtle eggs will break them, producing no hatchling and rendering them unusable.
