In the game Sons of the Forest, grottos serve as intriguing and essential locations for exploration and survival. These natural underground spaces are scattered across the map and often hide crucial resources, unique items.

Gameplay

You can walk right into these natural underground spaces. Some have ropes leading deeper underground and hiding unique items.

Frozen Lake Grotto

Entrance is uphill from the Mountain Crash Site Following the stream upriver from the crash site lead directly to the frozen lake. On the ice, lies a broken sled; two abandoned tents flank the cave's exposed entrance. Inside the icy cavern lies three skeletal remains with another broken down sled.

Mountainside Grotto

The opening to the icy grotto lies exposed on the slope of the mountain. Outside are two broken down sleds and inside the cave lies the skeletal remain of a person. Hiking slightly up above the cave will lead to an abandoned survey campsite with 3 tents and a frozen corpse.
