Overview[edit | edit source]

The Slingshot in Sons of the Forest is an early-game ranged weapon that can be found near the entrance to the Shovel Cave. It is located on the body of a middle impaled operative just outside the Shovel Cave. The Slingshot uses Small Rocks or Golf Balls as ammunition, both of which are easily found around the island.

Usage[edit | edit source]

The Slingshot is ideal for hunting small animals like squirrels and birds due to its plentiful ammo and rapid-fire capabilities. It’s not effective against larger enemies or mutants, as its damage is relatively low. However, for early-game hunting and conserving stronger weapon ammo, it’s a useful tool. The Slingshot’s slow projectile speed makes it harder to hit fast-moving targets, but its ammo is easily replenished.

Tips & Tricks[edit | edit source]

  • Use the Slingshot to hunt small animals like squirrels and birds to gather Raw Meat and Feathers.
  • Be mindful of the slow projectile speed and aim slightly above the target for more accuracy.
  • Avoid using the Slingshot in combat against larger enemies, as it lacks the stopping power of other weapons.
  • The slingshot is effective against Mutant Babies, taking only one to two hits with the slingshot to kill.

Worth it?[edit | edit source]

The Slingshot is a great early-game weapon for hunting small game and conserving more valuable ammunition. While it’s not effective for combat, it’s worth picking up for its usefulness in gathering resources without wasting stronger weapon ammo.
