The Artifact is a special item in Sons of the Forest.
Gameplay[edit | edit source]
Pieces of the Artifact are scattered in caves around the Island. They are found in barricaded sections with a large amount of wooden crosses leading to the piece itself.
Once the Artifact has been assembled, it will become a multi-purpose tool of some sort. Currently, the Artifact possesses 2 "modes", which can be toggled by looking down and pressing the Secondary use key :
- Coating mode - This mode allows the player to coat structures in Solafite. Coated structures will see their resistance value doubled.
- Teleportation mode - This mode allows player to teleport to the currently active Teleporter.
Additionally, the Artifact is also used to activate Teleporters, Attract Shrines and Repel Shrines. This can be done in either mode.
The Artifact is powered by inserting Solafite ore, for a maximum charge of 8 pieces of Solafite. An indicator on each side will show the remaining power of the Artifact; coating a structural element and teleporting will use 1/16 of the charge.

Artifact F is found in a small but deep cave that is located where the blue light in the sky meets the ground after choosing to stay at the island.
