The Armor Plater is a special structure in Sons of the Forest allowing player to create Solafite Armor, as well as activate the Ancient Armor.

Gameplay[edit | edit source]

This structure will allow players to plate Bone Armor pieces in Solafite to convert it into the Solafite Armor. The Armor Plater is also used to coat and activate the Ancient Armor. This will be required to open the Hell Cave.

Plating an armor requires 12 pieces of Solafite ore and, once the process has been started, it cannot be interrupted. The Armor Plater is fully self-sufficient, and does not require an external power source or have its batteries replaced. Plating an armor will cause a Solafite Storm, which will attract 2 waves of mutants of varying kinds, including the more powerful types such as Legsies and Holeys. Should the structure be destroyed mid-use, the process will cancel and the Armor will be given back to the player unaltered, but the Solafite ore will be lost.

Although the Solafite Armor has by far the highest resistance on top of being much less resource-demanding than the Tech Armor, its creation can be a risky process; it is recommended that the Weapon Plater should be built in a specifically designated area where mutants can either be held off or fought with more ease. Additionally, plating the Ancient Armor is necessary to progress the main story.
