Sahara Therapeutics is a company working in medical treatments. One of their major concerns was youth and longevity, which their Jarius Project was based on. Their research was based in two locations, however Sons of the Forest would have been the third, until they lost it in the bidding war against Puffcorp.

Sahara Therapeutics seems to buy out Islands with anomalous purposes, namely both games' locations; with the intention of utilizing the Island's Artifacts, i.e. The Forest's Artifacts, and what would've been Sons of the Forest's Solafite and Cube.

The Forest[edit | edit source]

Sahara Theraputics purchased the peninsula in order to construct The Sahara Laboratory, which runs from deep undergrounds to high in the mo untains with an observatory, the lab seemingly mostly handles Genetics, although has a supernatural component with the Obelisks.

They also featured obervation rooms to monitor and record intentionally induced mutations used in an attempt to increase longevity, namely the Armsy or Virginia mutations. Some form of uprising left the facility overrun, as all site staff is mostly evacuated or deceased, with Cannibals, Babies and some mutants primarily inhabiting its facility.

Sons of the Forest[edit | edit source]

In Sons of the Forest, Sahara plays an important role in the story, after losing the bidding war for "Site 2" to Puffcorp their market value to decline and left Sahara irate. Later when Jianyu Zhang wanted revenge on Puffcorp, Sahara jumped at the offer to fund his vengeance, likely with the hopes of gathering any unusual materials from the island as well. After Jianyu failed, a new competitor in the Pharmaceutical Industry LeBlanc Pharma run by Tim LeBlanc dominated the industry and Sahara presumably went out of business, as Tim LeBlanc would utilise Solafite, which has properties that hugely surpass the Jarius Project, suggested in a Holosprings video at the end of the Entertainment Bunker which explain the properties of Solafite.
