Cross
The Cross is a special item in Sons of The Forest.
Gameplay[edit | edit source]
The Cross' primary and most apparent use is as a weapon against Demons. Brandishing the Cross towards a Demon or a Large Demon will light it ablaze for 4 and 2 seconds respectively. If a Demon's health is brought below 30 from a Cross attack, it will collapse and writhe on the ground until killed.
Brandishing a cross towards other Mutants will cause their fear statistic to instantly increase then slowly decrease. The amount of fear caused from the Cross depends on the Mutant type, with larger mutants such as Caterpillars or Holeys being overall less affected than more common types such as Puffies. The Cross has no effects on Cannibals.
The cross is a powerful weapon against hordes of Demons, being able to potentially strike multiple at once and disable them in two or three uses. However, its fear effect on Mutants is rather trivial, leaving the player much better off fighting them rather than attempting to scare them into fleeing.
